Every January 1st we say “New Year, New Me” and we all know damn well that this is never 100% true. Yes we may have New Years resolutions but how many of those do we keep and aren’t they the same every year; get fit, join a gym, learn a new skill, go on holiday etc. come on lets stop lying to ourselves.
This year I decided that instead of New Year resolutions I am going to set smaller goals throughout the year. Whether they be weekly or monthly goals. I find by setting smaller goals that are more realistic you will have more motivation to actually achieve these goals if the end of the road doesn’t seem too far away.
As I was away over New Year, I am starting my goal setting tonight, for Monday! This week I have only set a few goals as doing less with help you achieve more! If you set 2 goals and achieve 2 goals in a week you will have more motivation to achieve more goals the following week. Whereas if you set 5 and only do 2 or 3 you will think you have failed. Start small and move your way up.
My goals for this week are:
- Attend 2 PT sessions
- Plan out 2 blog posts
I feel as though these goals are achievable and by giving myself 7 days to do them makes it that much easier! Don’t make your goals hard for yourself, in the end you want to achieve them don’t you??
What are your goals for 2017?!!
I honestly don’t know where this year is going! It is crazy to think that next month is Christmas and my birthday. October was definitely a hectic month and all I could think about was going on holiday. Last month I didn’t have too many favourites as I haven’t tried out many new things but I did find a few old favourites that I have brought out again.
The one favourite I did buy this month was a Millie Marotta colouring book. Now I know I am a bit late on the band waggon with this one but I never really understood the whole hype until now! I have honestly done so many in the book and to be honest I think I spend way too much time on each page but I have been loving it. Colouring really is therapeutic and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
My next favourite is my Bath and Bodyworks Twisted Peppermint Shower gel and Body lotion. Now that the festive season is coming up I have brought these gems back out to use. Needless to say, I am very excited about Christmas.
Last but not least, the fake tan. Winter is over here in Australia and that means I need to tan up the body ready for my real tan. As always I am loving my Bondi Sands. Although lately, I have been using the dark foam rather than the lotion form. I have never been very good at fake tan so I tend to stay away from the foam, but I thought I would just bite the bullet and use it and so far so good!
Cant wait for November favourites, I have so many news things I am trying out! xx
Back at it again with the monthly favourites. This year has just gone far too quickly and I can’t believe it is already October. This month I have a variety of things, from beauty to food and a new edition to my family.
I was in need of some new shampoo and whilst I was in the supermarket a few weeks ago I came across a Tresemme one that was one sale for $6. I picked it up not really expecting a miracle, but I am quite impressed. I found that it almost dried out my hair (but in a good way – if that is possible). It seemed to wash out easily and my hair felt really clean afterwards . This shampoo also claims to keep your hair from getting greasy and that you can last up to a week between washes. I will say that a week is probably not going to happen but I did get a solid 4 days out of it without my hair going greasy. I’ll continue to use it and see if it improves with time.
I have also been trying a new face scrub this month. I have always been a fan of St. Ives products so I thought I would try another scrub. This time, I got the green tea one. I must say it is a lot fresher than the oat scrub I had. I feel like it gives my skin a really good clean and has definitely minimised my blackheads.
Recently Mum took a quick trip to Sephora and picked up a new Zoeva brush for me. I was in need of a new bronzer/blush brush and I have been loving it. The bristles are so soft and it applies bronzer so smooth and effortlessly. I feel as though I don’t need to blend as much. I will definitely be getting more Zoeva brushes. If you recommend any let me know, please!!
A strange favourite but I have been particularly into fruit this month. I don’t know if it is the Spring season or what but I have just been eating so much fruit. In particular, I have been loving pear, kiwi and watermelon. I will have this combination almost every day and if not I would probably eat 3 or 4 kiwis a day. Bring on the Summer fruits!
And last but not least…. our new kittens!!! My family have been sort of talking about getting a kitten for a while to add to our endless number of pets (well a dog, cat and rabbit). At the beginning of the month, Mum and I were sitting having coffee one day and whilst I was scrolling on Instagram I found a picture of two kittens at our local cat shelter ready for adoption. I showed mum and she instantly said: “Oh let’s go have a look at them!”. We hopped in the car and within minutes we were there. We went into the first adoption shed and they weren’t there so we went into the second and as soon as we walked in we saw their adorable faces. They were two sisters; Teddy and Tilly. We both melted and just knew we, had to have both, we couldn’t very well separate them especially because there was two. It has been nice to experience having baby pets, as both our dog and cat are fairly old I don’t remember what it is like to actually raise and train pets. They have settled in so well, it definitely helps to have two as they don;t get lonely and don’t require your full attention 24/7. Adopting from shelters is such a great way to help animals to be rehomed or help them to be taken out of a terrible situation and given a second chance at life.
This was Tilly (is the short hair one) and Teddy (is the medium hair one) the first day we had them.
This is them 2 weeks ago, as you can see they have settled in quite nicely! 🙂
